Several different factors coalesced to inspire this photoshoot:
- I cut my hair and wanted to show it off! It’s already been a few weeks since I’ve had this short/tomboyish cut. Sometimes I do miss beach curls, but overall, I’m very happy with the decision. I think shorter cuts look better on me, and more importantly, there’s a lot less maintenance that goes into it. Nothing feels better than waking up in the morning, brushing through my hair once and being out the door. Lovely Galina Vertigo did an awesome job with my hair and you should check her out in you’re in NYC area!
- It’s been awhile since me and Katrin Albert, a close friend and a talent in photography who inspires me on daily basis, collaborated on a shoot, and it would have been a crime to go through a season of perfect outdoor photography weather and do nothing.
- Clothes/accesories that I bought during a huge sale at Tobi arrived and I realized it would make for a nice classy lookbook! Or you know, it would give me an excuse to wear all black on the beach (I very seriously considered #BeachGoths for the title of this post).
Although Katrin was doing a great job of being my Instagram husband for the day, I got to snap some photos of her as well in pretty sunset light. HOW GORGEOUS IS THIS LADY?
If you’re wondering, she’s wearing badass jewelry from Mary Gallagher NYC.
Did I mention beautiful sunset? NYC summers you can be so good sometimes.
