For those of you who already miss cherry blossoms like I do I bring you a whole post of gorgeous blooms from a day trip to Philadelphia I did back in April.
This trip to Philly has been such a revelation to me. The last time I was in Philly, I’ve seen nothing but museums. Which is to be expected if you a high schooler taken along on a culturally enriching trip by your friend’s parents. I appreciate it, friend’s parents, but it turns out this city is full of other wonderful things aside from the amazing Philadelphia Museum of Art.
One of the most magical things we’d discovered on our trip was this little neighborhood by Fairmount Park. I spotted cherry blossoms and teal rooftops from across a field, and practically sprinted there.
We were not disappointed when we made our way across the field and were presented with a row of gorgeous historical houses and cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms at their most absolute beautiful peak. I was in heaven.
After basking in all that beauty, we started making our way downtown for some happy hour oysters and beer.
But first, quick stop by a river for some photos. Can you tell from my outfit how warm and nice the weather was? Nothing at all like the awful, rainy May we experienced after. You can see more of my outfit photos from this day here.
Downtown Philly was really lovely as well. Lots of historical buildings nestled next to some moderns ones. Similar to some parts of NYC, but also giving me completely different vibes.
After a very satisfactory meal of happy oysters at Oyster House, we figured we’d hit another spot in a different part of the city for moar food.
A quick drive took us to the Northern Liberties neighborhood which made me think we’d somehow defied the space-time continuum, crossed over dimensions, and ended up in Williamsburg, BK.
The area did not only offer up some incredibly hip and cozy bars & restaurants but also presented us with this lovely little park in the middle of it all that had a wisteria arc. WISTERIA!
The sun was cooperating as well, and providing us with this beautiful light for pictures.
Our evening concluded with the most delicious dinner over at Heritage which I’m planning to write about separately, because wow, that experience. Is worth driving out to Philadelphia for.
Philadelphia, how are you this beautiful and when do I get to return?
[I’m behind on so much content I have accumulated over the past two months including but not limited to: several outfit posts, another cat cafe date, photos of a boudoir shoot I did a few months back. All in due time, I tell myself, because May has been insane, I’ve worked 2 weeks without a day off, and on days when I didn’t have work my energy levels were in the gutter, so I’ve given myself permission to take it slow with blogging and social media.]
