Okay, the title of this post is slightly misleading. My girlfriend and I didn’t actually get to visit Shofuso Japanese House & Garden, because we were in Philadelphia for only a day, and on a Monday no less, so the garden was closed. But we did get to explore the picturesque Fairmount Park where the garden is located, and we also got to take amazing photos outside of the garden. You can even peek inside the garden, without having to enter it, so I don’t feel like we missed out on much.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous (mid 70s) and I got to wear my first summer outfit of the season, complete with a cotton blouse (similar), embroidered skirt from Francesca’s (similar), platform sandals and a vintage bag.
I’m almost convinced it’s better to visit Shofuso Japanese House & Garden on the day when it’s not open because you get this view all to yourself. There was not a single living soul around, and I had the most zen time taking in the beautiful, spring blooms and posing for photos.
I also got to roll around in the grass:
Although our trip was short, we managed to do a lot things in Philadelphia and I took about a million pictures of cherry blossoms, the downtown area, the restaurants we visited (why, yes, we had two dinners). Stay tuned for more of our cozy adventures :).
