Summertime in New York City: Two Summer Outfits

June has been slightly insane for me so far. I went on several trips—to Canada for a music fest, to Philadelphia again for a foodie adventure, to Fire Island for a beach escape—and did other cool things like attend Florence and the Machine concert at Barclays Center, take a ferry to Governor’s Island, bike around Staten Island. Basically, I’ve been trying to go out as much as possible because summer is usually when I feel the most motivated to be social and active. The weather hasn’t been too hot and I immensely enjoyed ditching my usual black jeans for skirts and dresses. Here are two of my recent favorite summer outfits, both featuring this black hat from H&M that pairs so well with everything and that I can’t seem to stop wearing.flowermaxiskirtbeachshoot-1I’m all about maxi skirts, especially the ones with slits on the side for extra movement. Also, converses with skirts is my jam. This was shot on a beach by Fort Wadsworth in Staten Island during sunset. You can’t really see the sun because it’s on the other side, but it’s still a beautiful and relaxing spot to hang out in summer evenings. The sunrises are also breathtaking from this beach.

I just couldn’t find the ones that would look half-decent on me. The search still continues, but at least I have this one!Beach Summer Outfit: maxi flower skirt + black tank top + black hat Forgetting to take off the hair tie from my wrist is a totally a thing I would do…

I deliberated the colors for a bit too, but eventually I went with maroon, and I’m very happy with my choice. I wish it was a little longer, but I love the lacing so much! I feel so regal when I wear it.Kimchi Blue Embellished Trapeze Dress from Urban OutfittersI got a chance to wear this gorgeous dress when I took a ferry to Governor’s Island to meet up with a friend. I loooooove the burgundy dress. I think that’s my favorite color of the ones on the website, though I like the blue version too. It just looks so classy and fancy and romantic.

Unrelatedly, I’m jealous of the places you get to shoot these things. Man I miss the sea…
